I have a strange request. I love the creepy black panther on the wall there. My husband and I have named it Startle Panther. Should the restaurant ever decide to retire him I would more than willingly give him a good home.

Thanks for taking the time to write in! We too love our “unique” panther. He has been with the Shady Grove family for almost 21 years and we are hoping he will make it another 21 years. However, it is nice to know if we should ever want to retire our beloved friend that he has a good home to go to.

We just dined at Shady Grove to celebrate my husband’s and daughter’s birthdays and want to compliment the fantastic manager and our waiter Andrew. We had a large group (30+) and took over the new picnic table area on the lawn. Without our requesting, the manager offered to provide a server for the area, even though that is not the norm. Andrew handled the large and kid-filled group perfectly and made our night even more fun. Shady Grove is one of our favorite spots in town and with the service today, moved even higher on the list. Thank you!!
